Custom Closets #1

For this project LOK DESIGNS LLC was building a 2-story addition bump out of the rear side of the home. The new master bedroom was to be extended to fit a larger walk in closet and a new master bathroom.

The new master closet was to tie in with existing master bedroom closet size which was a gain of roughly 2’ x 4’ of closet space. as the project neared the finish work (Right after primer and paint was on the walls) i discussed with the homeowners that they should start visting online sites to view closet ideas/concepts, and start thinking about what exactly they want to place in there new master closet and how it would be placed. I will importantly state that yes, a homeowner should never start thinking on any shelving concepts or ideas until they can see paint/primer on the walls. seeing new drywall is very exciting! But nowhere near as inspiring as seeing light and paint!

Together as a team we created a design. of course this plan for a closet design is open minded because when designing a closet; not only as a contractor do i feel that it is best to draw lines on the walls prior to constructing it but it is best to just stand back and look at it together with the homeowners to make final decisions. lets face it; a drawing is always amazing when done with detail but until you can actually visualize it with lines on the wall there will always be room for adjustments of any final placement.

Believe it or not most homeowners think if they hire the best closet design company it is a said and done deal. sure it looks great on paper and that is prestine. i personally feel that is a great approach but nowhere near perfection in meeting the final placement his/her last belongings that need a unique place with the final left space of any closet. lok designs llc prefers to be more hands on, speak with the homeowners not just before building, but during the building closet shelving.

The closet came out beautiful and met all the needs of the homeowners. in addition to this beautiful closet creation we were able to fit in (1) extra shelf across the top of the entire closet to provide additional storage space.
