it starts with a homeowners idea; vision for how a homeowner really wants their main living room to be. Lok designs llc provides various forms of inspiration from previous projects, project drawings and before/after photos. The client provides their own inspiration from research.
Draw it.
I personally still create these images of custom built-in bookcases by hand at my drawing board with a mechanical pencil to this day. I create my own vision after speaking with homeowners and create my own design. The design is then placed into further developement with homeowners making final selections from molding catalogs provided from my lumber yard and my suggestions provided.
Build it.
Through the course of the building stages; items are always still being developed and worked on. heights of shelves, final placements, widths of trim design work. we build elegant beautiful custom built in cabinetry and we work with the homeowner to make each decision along the way. making a finish product that is adored for time to come by homeowners and their families.

at lok designs llc we cannot emphasize enough how important it is with building custom bookcases to not only have inspiration, gathered photos, but that finishing touch of sketching it out by pencil before the transformation and building process begins.

Sometimes even though we have a plan in mind for how design and layout will be; we need to take the extra hours and draw it out on the wall so that as a contractor we can stand back with the client and see heights and locations. It might add a couple of days to the project but well worth the wait for a transformation that will be appreciated for time to come. proportions with high ceilings cannot always be visualized in persepctive from a drawing even when it is done to scale.
Build & Finish it.
These elegant bookcases were without a doubt unique. We salvaged the fireplace mantle and tied directly into it with built-in cabinetry, bookcases, and center piece focal point with stacked stone. THe bookcases where faux painted using an antiquing glaze providing it the soft edges that stand out and make it LOK DESIGNS - “One of a Kind!”

as the owner of LOK DESIGNS LLC; I laurence J O’krogly Jr have been drawing wood working like projects since i was 12 years old. i love setting up my drawing tools from high school and sitting down for an hour or two with my music full blast creating a vision i recieved from interpreting a discussion with a homeowner.

when you see a project come out this nice and recollect the fact that it was something you personally designed, purchased each piece of material, screws, nails, glue and can still admire the photograph 11 years later. as a general contractor you can see what you have truly mastered as a tradesmen/carpenter.
