Elegant Custom Built Shutters
Custom built shutters. In order to complete the custom cut-out selected by the Homeonwer i had to use a special fine cutting tool. once this was completed using the oscilatting sander was the only way to smooth all of the accuracy cuts and give the wood a finish edge that could be painted.
These wood shutters took time to build, time to design, time to plan how they would be built, time to prime and paint finish the final product but they will last and be “THE shutters” on this home for generations to come that will be admired and adored for there soft elegance and clearly time consuming efforts in their construction.
These custom built wooden shutters also have specialty structural bolts which i added, painted using a rustic black gloss paint, and instaled as feature accent finish piece to the shutters. Every time i vist the property I always find time to take a few seconds and admire these custom shutters and the time that went into them was well worth it.
Installing custom wood shutters that are painted should be maintained by re-coating every couple of years (3+) or once they start to appear that the color is beginning to fade or wash out, discoloration, mold/mildew presence. Prior to re-coating always make sure to fully clean the surface by method of scrubbing or a power washer. Let the surface dry for sufficient time; typically 24-48 hours of good solid warm weather prior to re-coating. If you are uncertain always feel free to contact or ask your local paint store vendor. Paint stores are always extremely helpful in the central new jersey area.
